The far north central mountains of PA is home to the members of Pi Chapter. Visitors to the area are treated to Mountain Laurel in the spring, hunting and fishing, skiing at Denton Hill, and water rafting down Pine Creek. Of course, travelers are attracted to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon to view the fall folliage. Local events visited by people far and wide include the Laurel Festival in June, Wellsboro's Dickens of a Christmas, Coudersport's Maple Festival and Galeton's Red Suspender Weekend. Cultural activities include the Endless Mountains Music Festival, the Wellsboro Town Band in the summer, Hamilton Gibson Theater, and Potter County's Falling Leaf Festival. Mansfield University's music department provides everyone with endless opportunities to attend musicals, jazz festivals, and recitals of various kinds.
Who are we?
The DKG Society International is a professional honor society for women educators with nearly 90,000 members from United States and 19 other countries around the world. The Society defines its mission as promoting professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Pi Chapter is one of 58 chapters in Pennsylvania. Pi Chapter's 50 members draw from public and private schools in Potter and Tioga countries including Mansfield University.
